Question: What about Macs make them better for a career like Graphic Design than a PC!?
I am currently in high school, career majoring in Graphic Design!. In our classroom, we have lots of iMacs and I have heard from many people that a Mac is recommended over a PC !. I currently own a laptop with Vista, and I have all the same programs as I do at school: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash MX!. I can do all the things I do at school just fine on my computer!. I mean I do plan on getting a MacBook when I go to college, but I guess my real question is that why are Macs better than a PC for a field like Graphic Design!?

Actually, they are NOT, inerently better than PCs for graphics!. Actually, hundreds, if not thousands more programs are written for PCs than for Macs!. Still, that does not matter since all the applications designed for graphic artists are available for either platform!.
And, don't forget, some applications, like high end, 3D motion picture renderers are not based on either platform, but run on Unix or other proprietary systems!.
I use both PC and Mac in my business and I find that, within the application, the difference is pretty transparent!. Aside from a few keyboard shortcut commands, the operations in both platforms are the same!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
You can get a lot more programs on it!. Plus, Mac is much more geared toward creative people!. My school has just made it a rule to have a Mac when coming into the art programs!. It is easier to save and find projects, it comes with some basic creative programs!. It generally has more memory and runs faster with the programs you are going to be using!. It has a clearer screen and it adverse to most viruses!. You can download all kind of programs onto it without getting viruses!. Just generally more user friendly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
