Question: Would you rate this from 1-10!?

i took this the other day, i've shown it to a few people and they think its fake, but its real!.!.!.!.
would you rate it from 1-10 for me!? 1 being bad!.

i give it an 8 i think that it looks good with it slightly out of focus because it seems almost poetic in that nature!. the flower being the 'focus' of the photo is out of focus!. the reason i only gave u an eight is because im almost positive that you didnt mean this

There's a subtle difference between out of focus and 'soft', unfortunately this is out of focus!. So it's only a 4 I'm afraid!.

I actually prefer the other picture in your album where the flower is sharp, and the diagonal of the floorboards is more dynamic, so you have stillness and dynamism in the same picture, after a crop that one would be an 8!.

Great idea and good 'seeing' to spot the shot in the first place!.

IMHO:
The contrast and tone shows lack of control!.
Out of focus subject is not an artistic device - it's just slackness on the artist's part!.
The composition is pedestrian!.
Subject selection and framing are quite good, and the subject selection shows real merit, which you should develop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like the other similar flower and plank picture better than this one!. The out of focus flower just doesn't work here IMHO!. Even when using a soft filter, the subject still needs to be in focus!. On my monitor, the B&W conversion looks a bit flat, possibly because of the darkness of the deck!. Good job on your part to spot a great image scenario and explore it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'm not trying to flatter you or boost your ego,
but i honestly like that image!.!.!.it is imaginative and well executed!.!.!.and the title fits well the black and white works very well, (so glad you did NOT put in a splash of colour)

I'd give it a six!. The contrast is quite good, as well as the overall idea!. However, the flower is slightly out of focus!. It would look much better in my opinion if it were tack sharp!. Instead, the focus seems to be slightly behind the subject!. You might be able to correct this in Photoshop by doing a smart select then sharpening the flower!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love b/w photography and your picture is very good!. But in this case, I think the contrast of the flower growing out of the wood planks would have stood out more if the pic had been taken in color!. Maybe doing a little artistic color to the flower petals only will do this!. Anyway, I would give it an 8!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The composition is poor, and for b&w, the contrast is poor over the entire image!. This can be fixed however!.
