Question: How do I hang a painting done on MDF or masonite, how do you prep the back!?

In college, we were instructed to prepare the back first by cutting down pieces of 1x2 board and glueing and nailing it on the back (nailing from the front)!. Then you can use screw hooks (they will be in a picture hanging kit) and install them on the inside of the vertical boards!. Attach picture hanging wire from one hook to the other!. If you have already painted the mdf/masonite you could get smaller board and glue it down with a heavy duty glue!. Make sure it is archival and won't eat at the board after time!.!.!.prepping the panel with the "frame" on the back will also prevent the panel from warping!.!.!.which masonite does do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
