Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Nope!. The USB feature on the Rebel XTi is designed specifically for sending and receiving purposes only!. The battery will not charge while the camera is plugged into the USB port!. That is why the auto shut-off feature will enable after awhile!.Www@QuestionHome@Com no use the "battery charger"!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. or plug the camera into the AC power supply if it charges the batteries in camera, - the xti does not usb cables are for sending data and are to low voltage to recharge batteries aWww@QuestionHome@Com I would guess it does not being as it is accessing the SD card and not the battery power, as a matter of fact, I know it doesn't because I once left my camera on, and plugged in while transferring pictures, and once I realized what I had done, my battery was dead!.Www@QuestionHome@Com No!. Get a card reader!. When you download the photos from your card (inside the camera)--it drains the power--and the battery can be charged for so many times until it needs to be replaced!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Most likely, no!.
