Question: What is crosshatching!?
i've never had any art classes other than in middle school, so i dont realy know terms!. could someone explain to me what this means and how to do it!?!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hatching has it's origins in engraving and etching, the hatching replaces the blurred/grey addition of tone by using straight parallel lines, to increase the darkness you can make the lines closer and for darker still you create your lines at another angle (up to and including 90o) it the second this that is precisely known as crosshatching although the simple hatching can also be known as crosshatching!.

you make crosses!. You make the lines close together if you want an area dark, and you make them further away if you want a light area
