Question: Proffesional/knowledgeable photographers out there!?
I think i would really like to get into photography as a career, but i have not done it for gcse or a level (i'm doing art though)!. I'm wondering if it's best to study it at Uni, or do something else like english or art and study photography later - and which English unis are best for it!? Any information very much appreciated, thank you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Photography is a very competitive business, so it's a career that one generally chooses because they enjoy it and not to make huge amounts of money!.

Your thoughts about studying in other fields merit additional consideration!. I grew up wanting to become a photojournalist, but I majored in public relations in college!. I managed to find a career (corporate public relations) where I am able to make photography a large portion of my job!. This allows me to express myself creatively while making a comfortable income!.

Happily, my company covers the cost of my equipment and their photos, and I simply pay for the processing of whatever images I shoot for myself!.

Ultimately, do what you think will make you happiest!. My opinion is that most people would rather make less money and enjoy what they do for a living, than make more money and hate their job!.

Best of luck with whatever you choose!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Photography is not just fashion, glamour, weddings and photojournalism so the first question to ask yourself is which career in photography!? - http://search!.learndirect!.co!.uk/searcher!.!.!.
Then find out what the requirements are and take it from there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Any photographic classes are good!. I teach photography online and have a very complete program!. Remember that a "degree" in photography gets you no work, a portfolio does!. I've been a pro (making a living at it) for 25years and don't have a photography degree!. If i can be of any assistance drop me a note!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
