Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: A camera, an eye for composition, a knowledge of how to capture an image that will captivate the viewer along with the basic knowledge of how your camera works, and the drive to succeed!. You ask should you need a degree, and I'm inclined to give my standard answer!.!.!.!.When a person decides they want to be a lawyer, for the sake of argument, they will either put themselves on a career path that will lead them to the success they desire as a lawyer by enrolling into a higher education curriculum that will teach them what is needed and is considered a career standard in order to practice; or they decide what they can do to contribute to society as a lawyer or a practitioner of the law in some manner without the degree!. Which is likely not possible, but one can be a paralegal without a degree or certification!. Those people usually don't make the money associated with being a lawyer!. Either way, if they want to be a lawyer, they will likely need to go to school [like everyone else] get a law degree, and take the Bar exam!. If you were to ask me how to become an electrical engineer, a field that I work in, I would tell you that you don't necessarily need an engineering degree, as I do not have one, and don't need one to do the job that I do!. But, I am an engineering electronics technician, I specialize in microwave RF technologies and work closely with engineers to research and develop technologies!. And while I enjoy my job and my role in the development of these programs of which I am a part, I am not an engineer!. So yes, I do the work of an engineer, though I make more than most engineers, I'd make more if I had a bachelor's of science in electrical engineering with a focus on RF!. Truth is, someday I will!. I have about 70 credit hours toward my degree!. I do the work, and I do the schooling necessary for my field!. I do also refer to myself as a photographer, in more of a leisure manner!. I can refer to myself as such, despite having never gone to school!. And I know a little something on the subject, I can answer many questions about it, and I talk about it all the time!. But I'm not a professional!. And I believe that if you want to be taken seriously in any career, you should have the education to prove it!. Simple as that!. But!.!.!.!.!.you don't need a degree to do the same work!. Take from this what you must, and good luck to you in your endeavors!.
