What should my packages consist of and how much should I charge for this particular event!. No they are not famous, yet, but they are on their way to getting a record deal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Okay, as a music photographer I charge anywhere between $100 - $500 for a promotional shoot!. This depends on: a) Do I know the band or not!? i think it is super important to have awesome band shots, so if they are a band that are my mates or if they are young, i will charge them less!. A lot of people don't realise that bands (even if they are with a minor or indie record label make NO MONEY! b) are they dickheads!? If they are, i like to charge ******** tax - an extra $50, they will make the shoot diffucult and long and you deserve the extra money - of course, i dont tell them about the ******** tax!. lol c) How long do they want me!? I charge about $80 an hour, give or take!.!.!. that is the award rate for a photographer in Australia!. If they want me to walk a million miles all over the place to get to different locations, they have to pay me for my time and effort, if its just one location, like my studio, then its less!. d) Do i need to edit the photos!? - if I do, then I normally charge and extra $50!. Sometimes I can be editing for 2 hours! e) Do they wants prints or a cd or the photos (negetives if you work in film) - A cd of the final images are included in my prices, but if they want prints - charge double what it would cost you!. As for packages - not all photographers offer packages!.!. but i offer 3 as a guideline for bands: 1 - 1 hour photo shoot, minor editing and a cd of images - $150!. Ideal for young bands and band who are starting out!. 2 - 2 and half hour photo shoot, full editing including banner and poster design, cd of images - $300 3 - 4 hour photo shoot, any locations, full editing including banner, poster design, prints and cd of images - $500!. The prices can vary anywhere from 100-1,000 depending on how many shot, editing process, etc!. I'm not sure excatly what you are reffering to when you say packages!. But you probably want different sizes, poses, individual, group, with instruments,without!. Give them a variety to choose from!.!. If they were to hire a pro, the pro would chage the time it takes to get there plus his hourly fee!. What packages are you taking about!? CD cover, trips to different places to photograph !?
