Question: What do you think of this photo!? Am I improving my 'boring' style!?

that shot isnt great!.!.!. its blurry, the idea is great, but use a tripod, or at least set ur cam on someting!.!.!.!. without the blur its better, would be great with some light pointed @ the glass!.!.!. even a little light {small mag light, or one of those led lighted keychains can work wonders} to tell u the truht, i have one of those small super bright leds {bought it @ a mil base for like $14- says it can be seen for like 2 miles} and its a great light, for small things that need a bit of a spotlight to them!.

improvisation is a great thing in photograpy!.!.!. i live ina remote area in pa, where the nearest decent camera/supply store is 2!.5 hours away!.!.!. so, ive been known to play with just about anything to try to get the effect that im looking for!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There should be a diopter setting on the cameras viewfinder!. If you are shooting using auto-focus mode, sharp images should not be a problem!.

I would suggest you get a light meter to control the lighting ratio of your "studio" shots!. While the image composition is good (aside from the fact there is camera movement !.!.!. try using a tripod), the image contrast is very flat!.

Try shooting the same glass subject with a overexplosed white background !.!.!. you will be amazed at what that lighting technique will do for your "glass shots"Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not going to comment on exposure--others have already!.

I also think you may have shot this photo at the widest lens setting (wide angle, I mean)--and when you do that closely to a subject, it makes it look funny--due to distortion!.

So it looks like this (this sample is a bit extreme)

instead of this:

So "zoom in" but stand not so close to the subject!.

And I think you should be either level to the subject, or a little above it, and not below!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You didn't notice that was blurry!? You may need to get your eyes checked!.!.!.

One thing that caught my eye was the creases in your background!.!.!. be sure to iron your background, it can be rather distracting!.

Be sure to pay extra attention to the reflection in the glass as well!.!.!. sometimes just changing the lighting a little can make them go away!.

I definately see some improvement though!.!.!. keep practicing :o)Www@QuestionHome@Com

The shot is promising! Aside from the focus issue, IMHO, there are too many light reflections (too many sources!?) Yes, there will be multiple reflections in any glass, but in your photo, it looks like there may be three or more sources!.
Keep up the good work!.!.!. digital photos cost nothing to take, so experiment and have fun!

Well for one thing its out of focus!.

Everyone has their own "style" so mine might be considered boring to you while it might be exciting to someone else!.

Use a tripod whenever possible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

not a good shot at all!. No depth, no real subject!. Trying to be artsy, failled misserablyWww@QuestionHome@Com
