Question: I would like people's opinions on the issue of human dependence on IT!.!?
Hi! I am currently studying at a college, and attend an arts class!. Currently, the theme we are studying is the power of computers over contemporary society, and need to do a project to reflect the common opinion/feeling about this issue!. So, that's why I am asking all of you out there:
What do you think/feel about the growing importance and human dependence on information technology (computers in particular)!?
Thanks heaps,

i think there probably is too much dependence at times!. There is obviously a huge benefit in many ways - I find it wonderful for keeping an eye on my finances and certain business communications but often get furious with myself when I've just allowed another hour to vanish while doing something totally unimportant, with nothing to show for it, instead of doing something creative or constructive!. I enjoy sending emails to friends who live at a distance from me and endeavour to make communications more like really good letters rather than over-abbreviated slang-ridden gobbledygook!. The tendency for many to treat emails in the same manner as text messages is frustrating and destroying our language and therefore our ability to adequately communicate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think it's a bad thing!. But people do spend too much time on them probably!.!.!. myself included!. And boy, nothing can get me more cranky than when my computer isn't working! I get very fussy! Franky, it's wonderful to be able to go to the internet when you can't think of the name of an actor, or something like that!. We used to just have to wrack our brains until we thought of it, and that at least gave our brains some excercise!.!.!. but it's so much nicer to just go to the computer and look it up!. You can also do so many time-SAVING things with it, like keep up with your bank account, school projects, etc!. I really like my computer!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think as a research tool it actually leads to de-skilling!. whatever happened to actual research!?

as a community - i do recognise (begrudgingly) that it is a community!. I think its a wonderful gateway for people to make friends who would otherwise find it incredibly difficultWww@QuestionHome@Com
