Question: Photography question- Glossy professional images!?
I have access to a professional photographic studio that includes backdrops, umbrella lighting and a good camera (D200)!. The photos I produce are good, but not like the ultra wonderful sleek fashion photos you would see in a glossy magazine!. What do these photographers do to give their photos this sleek professional edge!? Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Would you be able to upload one to http://www!.flickr!.com to show us!?

One thing I noted was that you set your zoom lens at the wider end when you shot this particular photo!. The one of the young man (not the two children)--I thought they were fine!. But a portrait, when taken with a wide lens, the distortion is pronounced, like this:

at 16 mm (full frame DSLR)

and this one at 100 mm

Regarding the lighting--I think the recent article in Popular Photography is very useful http://www!.popphoto!.com/lighting/5139/th!.!.!.

I think that some (or most!?) of your photos seem to have the lamps bilaterally pointing straight at the subjects and I feel that the set up made these photos 'flat'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try printing them on glossy photo paper or editing them in photoshop to make them sharper, brighter etc!. xDWww@QuestionHome@Com
