Question: Is there something wrong with my Nikkor 105mm f/2!.8 G IF-ED !?
I'm not really sure if the f/2!.8 allows me to have a constant aperture of 2!.8 like other lenses (e!.g!. 50mm 1!.8, where i can stay at 1!.8 at all times), but when I take macro shots, I can only go up to f3!.5!. I can only reach 2!.8 when the subject is fairly in the distance!.!. Can anyone educate me on this!? Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is nothing wrong with your lens, the aperture only stops up to f/3!.5-4 at 1:1 magnification!. This is normal with a macro lens!. Read the owner's manual that came with the lens!. This shouldn't bother you as you want a broader DoF when shooting macro anyway, so you don't need the maximum aperture!. Typically, for macro, you should be shooting at least f/8!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
