Question: Pencil Drawing!?
I've done alot of my drawings with just a pencil and i like them that way, but is there something i can use like a spray so that the pencil will stay longer on the papaer!. What i mean is that if I touch the drawing alot the pencil eventually starts to fade so is there a product i can use to sort of keep the pencil on the paper and not on my fingers!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes there is, but i think it's rare, only few artists use such!. why!? because using that compromises the quality of your drawing, you know, the "texture effect" and the impression of the art that is supposed to be hand-drawn!. there are type of papers that are made particulary for charcoal/pencil drawing and these eliminates the overfading of the sketch!.

have you noticed most paintings are framed without glass on it!? the reason is to eliminate unwanted lights or shines if you look at them and at the same time to emphasize and preserve the artist's style!.

you might want to leave your drawing as like that, but it's up to you!. but i suggest you find better papers and pencils!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

What you want is a fixative spray!. They come in permanent and workable!. The workable will set the graphite of the pencil just enough so it doesn't smear and powder off onto your fingers, but you can still pick up enough of it with an eraser if you want to make corrections!. The permanent is self explanatory!. There are several brands names, and as far as I can tell they are the same!. An art store will have it or Michael's Art & craft supplies might have it too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Now this is a question best asked of an art supply shop or craft stores, there is a fixative for charcoal/pencil drawings!. It is best to draw from the top right of the page and make your way down so as not to be rubbing on previous lines!. If you are left handed the opposite then!. I do not remember the exact name of the fixative but it is out there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
