Question: Wedding photographer lost pictures what can I do!?
In March my husband and I got married!. We hired the Pros photography which is suppossed to be the number one place to go!. They sent me my photos on a disk as they were suppossed to except they were small images and I cant print anything larger than a 4X6!. I called them and told them weeks ago and they apologized and said they will send the new disks out!. After weeks of waiting I get a call from the manager saying the photographer made a mistake and deleted the pictures and the only copies she or the company has are the small pictures!. They were able to recover 130 out of 600!. Im not able to make enlargments or albums or anything!. They said theyll try to make enlargements of ones I want but to me thats not good enough!. I dont know what to ask for!. My money back or all my pictures free with an album if they can even do it!. I am soooo devasted I dont know what to do!. Any advice is appreciated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It sounds as of it was done intentionally!. you dont just burn images smalled onto a disk you have to resize them all and that takes some time!. I dont see how they could all be delete either I keep EVERYTHING backed up 3-4 differnt ways!. What you can do is goign to be based on what your contract says but if the images were worth a certain amount and their labor and time was worth another amount then you might only be albe to get back the cost of the images!. There are ways to make some of the files larger again however you be able to gain back any of the information!.

I doubt you will get back all your money, photos printed AND an album!.!.!.!. especially because that wasnt in your contract originally!. Just try to get as many of the files as you can!. sorry this happend!. good luck!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Did you sign any contracts with them!? If you signed contracts, review over them!.!.!. most times, when you sign a contract you would not win!. If they were top or the best in your town, they should of covered every detail even these kind of things!. I'm sorry about what you've experienced!. I would of been sooooooooo mad!. They should give it to you for free in my mind, because they lost your memories of once in a lifetime thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would definitely fight to get your money back!. Chances are, they will do it because they don't want to get a bad name!. They should also give your prints for free!.

I never deal with companies, choosing a solo photographer is always the best way to go!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the days of film when something like this would go wrong, a reputable studio would at LEAST rent a tux, get the bride's hair done and reshoot portraits!. In some cases they did this on location for the whole bridal party!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

get your money back and i think you can ask them for the pictures 4 free because it was their mistake!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depending on how much trouble you want to go ot, I would consider speaking to a lawyer about this!. I am NOT a fan of people running off suing willy-nilly, but this is your wedding we're talking about here!. Any digital shop should have multiple backup solutions in place and it sounds like 'pro photographers' didn't!. I've shot wedding independently before and the first thing I do when I get home from an event is to burn DVD's of all my files AND make copies over to a 2nd hard drive before I ever format my media - the DVD's are stored off-site in case of disaster!.

If you don't want to mess with an attorney, consider asking this place to 1) refund your money and 2) compensate you by funding a special 'wedding-themed' sitting with another photographer!. While this wouldnt re-create your wedding day, a good photographer can help you capture the fun moments/memories of your wedding day!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am sure you are devastated after expecting lovely wedding photos!.

This is not as uncommon as one would think though!. I used to cater for weddings and only did about 7-8 before I moved on the next job!. In that time 3 of the couples had trouble with photos!. One of the photographers forgot to put film the camera!. Luckily he realised after the service and they were able to go back and 'redo' the ceremony!. Another one lost the negs after the initial print so they only had a few photos!.

I would imagine the company will happily refund any payments if you approach them with the right attitude!. You could also ask for a reshoot of just you two in a place of your choosing!. If you don't have the opportunity to dress in your wedding outfits then have some formal/informal photos taken as you see fit!. At least you can then hang a nice enlarged photo of you as a new couple on your wall!.

I think you are justified in asking for money back, reshoot and prints/album!. After all their reputation depends on their problem solving in this situation!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
