the polarizing filter is used in front of the lens to reduce reflections!.

In CS2 under filter/distort/lens correction there are some adjustments for colored fringing on imagesWww@QuestionHome@Com

You can not correct fringing with polarizers!.
What the polarizer will do is to just minimise that effect!.
Fringing is induced by the lens inability to focus all wavelengths at the same spot (aberrations), i!.e!. red or purple which are the limits of the spectrum diverge when passing through the glass!.

The best way to fix them in photoshop is by using the plugin called PTLens:

This software has profiles for most cameras and lenses, including the H5 and will also correct the aberrations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes and yes!. Most pro level imaging software can remove fringing and yes a Polarizing filter will help remove fringing!. Just don't forget to buy a Circular Polarizing Filter!. The old Linear ones are no good on digicams!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

CS2 can definitely help (as said above) but you might want to consider using DxO optics to develop your raw photos!. It has a base of all known lenses and is able to correct most of such defects afterwards!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is the result of a lens defect, chromatic aberration!. You need a different lens to eliminate it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
