Question: Good feedback!.!.!. photography!.!.!.!.!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
1!. I like the contrast of the headless manikin and the hooded person!. Wish there were more of the person!. I'm not too fond of the photojournalistic high contrast B&W genre but this is an interesting example!.

2!. Not bad!. Take out the wire lading from behind his hat!. It leads away from the face too much!. Otherwise, a very decent portrait!.

3!. I am guessing the Voldemort is why you took this photo of a stop sign but I don't really know!. It needs a background to tell more of the story unless the viewer knows what it means already!. Otherwise, it is a stop sign with some words on it!.

4!. What are you trying to tell about this building!? The dynamic angle seems kind of defeated by the more traditional architecture!. Photoshopping the lights out would clean up the composition a bit!.

5!. The shadow or vignetting on the right side destroys this image!. I like the color with the silhouette, it just looks like it was taken to quickly without checking the camera!. also, what are you trying to emphasize the sky or the buildings!? You have divided the composition without making the real subject clear with an horizon nearly across the middle!.

I would like to point out that these are better than 99+% of the photos that are taken every day!. You definitely have talent!. Each of these images show that!.

Now my question to you would be, what would you fix about these images if you could!? What would make them better!? What did you not do or could not do that you wish you had!? It is not so much a matter of what other people think, it is how you feel about them yourself!. Is it unfinished or just the way you want it to be!.

George Lucas made hundreds of millions on Star Wars!. Yet, 20 years later, he was still trying to make it perfect the way he wanted it!. To fix the problems he saw!.

You will eventually need to be your biggest critic!. You will also need to know when it is good enough!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

#1 Fairly decent, would rather have the whole person included!.

#2 Too much post processing, over saturated and over sharpened, static centered composition also, his eyes could use a bit more light!. A reflector would have bounced some light under his hat without causing specular highlights!. But his expression is great!.

#3 ehhhhhhhh!. Just seeing the word Voldemort is interesting to a degree, at least to HP fans!.

#4 Tilt, overused!. Tilting a photo, especially in a landscape or architecture shot, rarely adds anything good!.

#5 I like!. I think it would look great cropped as a panoramic, or at least remove some of the dark space at the bottom and take the horizon out of dead center!.

I think you are doing pretty good considering your experience and equipment!. I would suggest a lighter hand on the post work, your images look too contrasty and saturated!. Keep learning and practicing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

shot 1: i could see what you were trying to achieve!. capture the mannequin together with the person!? again, execution was not there!. you could have stood back!. this didn't work out

shot 2: you were trying to capture a portrait here!. the man's expression is ok, but what pains me is that this image drastically lacks quality!. a definite no no

shot 3: try a new angle!. i've seen thousands of shots like these, and in the first place the sign isn't the most interesting around, right!?

shot 4: defnitely wins the others by a mile!. even though composition is poor, at least it's a nice perspective, something which the other photos are completely short of!.!.!.

shot 5: you tried to capture the silhouette, but again it didnt' work out!. you took too much of the bottom part and the lamp post is just toooo distracting!. you should have moved the camera more towards the top left!. on this photo, the exposure is poor and the quality is terrible!.

if you can take more shots like number 4, i would like to see what you could offer in the future!. the rest really don't work out at allWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Taylor
Okay!.!.!.
Shot 1!.!.!. hard to determine what the intended focus of the shot was girl at left is a bid distracting might have oriented yourself so that the palm cam out of the mannequin's head and the center is a bit burned out!.

shot 2!.!.!.great color!.!.!. could have snuggled in just a bit closer and cropped a bit more off the bottom so a bit more of the hat showed!.!.little too dark around the eyes because of the brim of the hat

Shot 3!.!.!. nice centering and upward angle of the shot good color combo, a tiny bit over used for subject matter but still good

Shot 4!.!.!. love the angle of the shot could have drop the aim just a bit so that the one light at the top right was not clipped off and that would have reduced the dynamic tension set up the the closeness of the yellow end of the one building to the edge of the photo !.!. all and all great angle, clarity and color

Shot 5!.!.!. my favorite of the bunch!.!.!. love the green and the heavy contrast from left to right as it gets darker in black and then lighter in the green in the opposite direction!. the curve of the light pole sets up just enough suggestion of motion to keep the piece from being to static and it adds just a little "weird" to the photo which is great all in all just keep shooting and never be afraid to show to to an audience that is the best way to learn!.
good luck!.
hope this helps

Ok, here's my best shot at it!.

I like number two, move your subject off center a little bit to add interest!.

Number one could be interesting if we had more of the window shopper in the frame to tell the story!.

On my screen they were a little contrasty, was there some post production editing!? Could just be my computer!.

Please study your composition!. Keep going, and have fun!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

128!.!.!. nice use of black and white!.!.!. expand the shot a bit to include more of the person looking at the window
second one seems a bit oversaturated!.!.!. try this one in black and white as well, good pose, try off centered a bit (rule of thirds)
Third one!.!.!. funny!.!.!. like it
fourth one!.!.!. good composition a bit contrasty
last one!.!.!. good silhouette!.!.!. not sure about the color but I could be wrongWww@QuestionHome@Com

good critisism would be like this:

compositions need work, exposure needs work, try this, try that

i doubt you want that!? so i will say your shots are great
