A lot of artists still use colored pencils spectacularly for traditional work!. But generally higher quality pencils like prismacolor blend better!. And as for crayons, they don't get the credit they deserve!. For example, you can use them with watercolor (the parts in crayon repel the watercolor)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I just finished a continuing education class in colored pencils!. I must have over 200 pencils- Prismacolor pencils are great! I haven't used crayons in a while!. But, drawing with colored pencils is a lot of fun and a bit harder than you may think!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I use Prismacolor pencils, too!. There are so many different colors- just like crayons!. This is a great medium!. You can do a lot by layering color!. It takes time, but the pictures turn out great- almost like a photograph! They are cool!Www@QuestionHome@Com I prefer colored pencils over crayons, paint or markers any day!
