My own experience is that there seem to be two kinds of pro photographer:

the first is a businessman who happens to take photographs, the second is a photographer who happens to be a businessman!.

Yours is the former!.
If you can, leave!.
The best of luck to you whatever you decide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should leave and try to get another job even if it isn't in photography!. You should take your own photos and make a portfolio!. It sounds like is guy is trying to make manipulate you just like he manipulates his clients!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Charlene,
First off, as a business owner, you must realize that if the sales don't come, you don't eat!. A photographer who owns a photography studio is a photographer second and a businessman first!. If you think his sales tactics are shady, then leave!. But realize that the sale is the most important thing in a photography business!. Not the product!. You aren't selling the product, but the feeling that people get when they leave the studio!. If you think his sales targets are unreasonable, then say so!. But be prepared to give an alternative or two!. Photographs are memories!. And that is what we sell!.
Photography is a great profession, but if you are to have a business of your own one day, remember that the sale and the feeling the client has when he/she leaves your studio is the most important thing you produce!.

Hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
