I too am self taught!. However, I went to college, and got a degree in another subject, but took many photographic courses as it both interested me and I needed the credit in art to graduate!.

When I was in the army and stationed in Korea, I had a good fortune of being stationed on a base that had a photo lab and an excellent teacher from town who invested many hours helping me and my techniques!.

For the most part, I have found most professional photographers are willing to assist others and will go our of their way to show them the ropes!. Egos are a part of any competitive field, and photography is certainly competitive!. By joining professional organizations like PPA or WPA you will find many professionals who will assist you!.!.!.!.to a degree that will not jeopardize their business!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes I'm a full time photographer now, and I'm self-taught!. Because it is my passion I'm always reading books, mags & surfing photography sites for new ideas and inspiration!.

While I like seeing what other photographers do I have learnt not to care about what other people think of my work!. I'm the only person who I have to satisfy - other people can pass an opinion but since everyone's artistic ideas are different there is no point trying to please everyone!.

The best thing to do is just get out and take photos!. The more you do, the more you see and figure out what you like in an image!. Someone told me it takes 10,000 hours or 10 years of doing something to become a master, I think this is true!. Ignore any negative comments from other prople unless you really respect them as a photographer!Www@QuestionHome@Com
