As to the SD cards: you have SD, MD, CF and many others!.!.!. I recommend the SD cards (film)!. They are compact and more and more cameras are beginning to use them!. They will carry up to a 2G load which is sufficient for any shoot, even with the larger MPs!.

They are small and easily can be lost if not stored properly, but you take care of them and you too will like them best!. Do not get the MD type cards (Memory Stick) they are obsolete except for Sony!.

You are in the market for an inexpensive point and shoot with a 5MP to a 7MP!. SD are the best data cards for you to use!. You can get over 1000 images on a 2G card!.!.!.!. more than enough to start with, afterall you are going to download them to your computer anyway and clear the card each time!.

HP has a good camera similar to what you want for around $100 that uses the SD card!. And Kodak (go to their webpage) has a selection of "pro-sumer" cameras for less than $500 that accept other lenses and filters if you are interested in something a little more professional with out the high cost!.

Check them out!.!.!.!. and good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He obviously was referring to the media card - NOT to "film!."

But some people choose not to know the dfiference!.

What he may have been saying is that he doesn't like the xD cards !.!.!. because they're so small, or fragile, or whatever!.

Who knows!? Ignore it !.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He's just being stupid!.!.!. this is a digital camera, and digital cameras use memory cards, not film!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
