It's a really interesting scrapbook shot and I think the background looks kind of artsy but for a competition, the background is blurry and the green dot, on the person's face, takes away from the photo!. Even though you know the story behind this, other people don't and it just detracts from the photo!.
But for a personal photo, it's really nice, nice color - the colors really pop out and great momento!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It really depends on the competition!.
You do a good job with bringing focus to your subject, but the way it is blurred may not get you far in a competition, and red eye will definately not get you anywhere!. (There are easy to use tools for fixing red eye)

I really doubt it!. As others have mentioned, it is not in focus, bad flash lighting, exposure problems and red eye!. Cute expressions, though!. A nice scrapbook or album picture to show you having fun, but not really competition material!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

hmm!.!.!.!. i guess you should fix the red eye problem, most photo software can do that!.
and there's this weird leaves at the background!.!.!.
But other than that, I think it's nice the way you capture the expressions!.
