Question: Why is the color Crimson used so often on the palette !?
When I look at the color wheel, Crimson is so far to the right and isn't a match for any of the blues, yet it is used and mixed with many of the blues by many artists!. I love the color !.!.!. just trying to make sense of it!. Thanks for your answers !.!.!.hope there are some!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I use it all the time with deep blues and greens!. I guess it's because primary red is so 'RED'!. In nature it usually is used as a sigh of warning- crimson is more inviting!. also it can be used in close proximity to greens and look more like a complementary and not an opposite!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Alizarin crimson is the traditionally most "mixable" red on your palette!. It is the red to use as a complement when shading green or blue!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
