Question: Help With Lens!!?
I know that this lens will not work with my Nikon D40 (as far as focus goes) but I always use manual focus so thats ok! :) do you know anything about this as a first macro lens!? the price is what really caught my eye!!

For just about the exact same price ($395), look at the Nikon 60 mm macro lens!. It's what I use!.

Nikon just came out with an AF-S version for $570, also!.
http://www!.bhphotovideo!.com/c/product/54!.!.!. I have not seen this lens yet, but it has been written up pretty well!. Even if you use it on autofocus, you will be able to instantly over-ride the autofocus!.

If you'd like to see what you can certainly expect from your D40 and the 60 mm lens, here are some that were made using the D70s, which is also a 6 MP camera!.

IMO, you should buy it from a local real camera store!. They may let you try it and return it if you aren't happy with it!. Most on-line stores have a return policy but you pay twice for shipping and insurance!.

Personally, I like the longer (100mm, 105mm) macro lenses better because of the longer working distance from bees, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
