Question: What would be the best way to preserve my late father's baby book!?
It's full of old pictures (mostly black and white) and greeting cards!. Is there a certain plastic bag I can put it in to keep it and the photos from fading!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Fading is mostly caused by exposure to sunlight!.

Keeping the book in a dark place will be sufficient!.

also keep it in a dry place to avoid mildew!.

I know you hate to do it, but you might could take it apart and get those old photos and memorabilia into a Creative Memories book!. Look in the yellow pages for your nearest Creative Memories consultant, and she should be able to help you!. Hope it works!. GramsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I have to agree with Kris L!.

You definitely want everything remounted on acid free materials and stored in an acid free box!. You should also make sure you store this box in a cool dry place out of sunlight!. Scan everything while your at it!. This way you will always have copies in case something happens to the originals!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Scan everything, probably the best way to keep thins is to put them into zip lock baga!. Papers worst enemy is moisture, such as humidity, so put thing into the zip bags, ensuring you get as much air out as possible!. Scanning provided you with a permanent digital record!.
