Question:

I have been shooting for about 6 years now, and am pretty good at this point (always room for improvement though!) but I would like to start getting my name out as a pro!.

All of my friends know I love and am talented at graphic design and photography, and I am even shooting (my first 'official shoot') some engagement photos in 2 weeks for a couple I am close to- I was going to charge them for the film processing, but not for editing or the CD I was going to give them- just to get my name out some more!.

The number one thing you should do is become an assistant to an established pro!.

There's a lot more to the business than taking a good picture -- especially if you're going into weddings!.

One year with a professional will save you five years of learning by trial and error!.

Try having your work looked at by a "pro" and ask for an honest opinion, not just you friends!.
