Great camera! I have the S3is and wish it was the S5!. I'd love to have the hotshoe!.

Here are the things to remember about these "super point & shoots!." (At least, about the Canons)
1!. You're getting far better quality of construction and materials than if you bought a low-end DSLR (Rebel, etc!.)!. In fact, it's far, far, FAR better!
2!. The zoom range you're going to have is outstanding and, again, the quality of the glass in this lens is far superior to kit lens quality!.

In other words, contrary to what a lot of people will try to tell you, even though the P&S sensor is smaller than a DSLR sensor, the quality of these other features makes this kind of camera a much better, and far more durable, choice than just about any low-end DSLR around!.
