Don't tell me it's for your GCSE exam on Barriers! When you started to type in your question, all the others should have come up!. Follow the previous!. Look at Hogarth (drawings and prints of Bedlam)!. I googled Prison Art and found loads painted by actual prisoners!. also, have a look at The Railway by Manet!. It's in the National Gallery of Art, Washington!. A little girl looking through bars at the railway, but it looks like she and her mother are in prison!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

lots of artists paint suffering like Edward munch (the scream),
Picasso (Guernica) as for bars and prison, the most powerful work I have discovered is in the form of graffiti books which speak volumes on this topic!. Hope that helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
