Question: When a section of a map (that's difficult to see) is magnified, what is the magnification called!?
I asked this before, and the only answer I got was "an insert", which I do not think is correct!.

The first answer was close but no cigar!.!.!. it's called an "inset" not an "insert!."

Definition of inset: "A map within a map, either at a smaller scale to show relative location, or a larger scale to show detail!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've heard it called a "blowup insert!." It didn't sound properly technical but it was clear what was meant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
