Question: I'm doing some Glamour shots for my adult daughter next week!.!. advice needed!.!.!?
They will be taken indoors!. She is very fair with Auburn hair!.
I'm using my old Canon EOS 300D, manual settings!. They will mainly be closeup head shots!. I don't yet have lights!.

I would appreciate any tips anyone could give me to help make this a success for her!. I do apologise if this is too general a question, but if I knew what specifically to ask I could probably look it up and not trouble you!.

Thanking you in advance, Lizzie :o)Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first tip would be to put your camera in the aperture priority mode to create the best Bokeh using a "fast portrait length lens)!.

Use a good 500 watt incandescent lamp with umbrella, to soften the light on her face!. Use a fill card or lamp if you want less dramatic lighting!. (I use a Lowel Tota-light)

You can also shoot outdoors using open shade (again remember to set your white balance for the shade)

You can look on One Model Place or Model Mayhem for portrait ideas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

try to take near windows, to get some natural light!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you have an on camera flash then mount it to a stand and use with umbrella, or bounce the light off a foam core board or even a reflector!.

Alternative is the natural light through a window

Do whatever you did for your self-portrait (your avatar), because - my God - it is gorgeous!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here's a couple tips that might - maybe - get you there!. First, get a diffusion or softening filter!. Go medium strong!. Second, use a tripod!. Third, yes, pose her near a window!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
