I would not suggest putting a PayPal link begging for donations unless you are selling your photography as prints at your site.

The thing about homemade websites (unless you are a professional web designer) is they mostly look amateurish and, well, homemade. If you are hoping to attract real clients, they may be turned off by a poorly done site. There are many well done sites out there. You can also get a professional template and do your own. I think they key for most folks is #1: Keep it simple. #2 Avoid crappy music, particularly if there's no way to turn it off. #3: Show your best work, and show what you want to represent. Do the edit beforhand, and be brutal. If you're wanting to do weddings, then don't show 40 landscapes and 4 wedding images.

Good luck with it. You might get more useful responses on photo.net.

This is just a very basic gallery of my photography. It may give you an idea or two.

You should continue to work hard at your website and photography, but its very difficult to sell photos online ,not that u can not do it , but its better to get tied in to where the majority of buyers are . I would recommend you go with something like
http://psc.photoshelter.com/
to let them present your work to buyers so u can concentrate on your art, but by all means push yourself in every way possible!!!:)
you have to be accepted at photo shelter, but they protect your work too, so thats a load off your mind.

good luck dear
all the the best!!
