bone china/porcelain can be somewhat transparent, at least you can see light through it. I have some bone china cups through which I can see light and shadow.

I haven't used it myself but I suspect that you need also to glaze them to achieve transparency. I think they are all high fire/cone 10 clays and glazes.

There are no ceramic clays that fire transparent or semi-transparent however, there are Polymer clays that do. Depending on your use, polymer can be pretty versatile.
