Why not think of all the things that symbolise you as a person, and what or who has contributed to making you a great person, rather than sticking to portraits continuously, offer the examiner a more diverse and challenging art student not too scared to venture outside of the box. Abstract those indivduals and things that have made you great within a surrealistic portrait of yourself. To chanel and limit your portfolio to just one form of artistic ability can sometimes leave an artist stale and unimaginative, unable to decide their next project due to their limited choice, by adding a tweek or just shaking up your original choice with some unique and truly ORIGINAL flare it sets you out from the rest and shows you can adapt and have diversity!! Good luck

A favorite of mine is Albert Einstein. I've included him several times in paintings I've done.

I would suggest you stay away from doing a Marilyn Monroe or John Wayne or James Dean. They've been way overdone.

You might even consider doing portraits of other artists, like Picasso or Dali or Van Gogh. Those would be fun. You could have the artist in their studio with perhaps a copy of one of their paintings in the background hanging on an easel?
