Question:i have to do a photo project that tells a story thru 5 or more pictures... any ideas? :) thaaanks

it is in black and white...

example: i'd take one picture of someone walking on a curb.... the next would be the person a little farther on the curb, the next would have them tilting as if they were falling, and then next would be them falling more, then the last would be them on the ground...etc.

any one have any more creative ideas?

how about someone jumping of a swing? get them in the back, middle, top(like ready to jump off) , in mid air and then landing.
or if you have a younger brother or sister have them paint. then have one pic at the end with paint on their face. anything with little kids playing.
oh or legos! have them build something and 'record' the process.

Is this a picture story or a photo essay assignment? ... they are different, the photo essay only has to suggest a story. The viewer gets to use their own experiences and responses to the images to find their own story within the essay.

The way I do it, is go back over my old contacts and see if any of the subjects or shooting styles that trigger ideas for a new essay.

I may even use one of the existing images as the cornerstone of the essay.

Once you have some notes from your past work, grab a couple of rolls and start shooting.

This sounds like a fun assignment but what are the limitations?
do you personally have to have taken the photos? Cause if not then have as an older relative of pictures when they were a baby, a child, a teen, a young adult, so-on and so-on. Thus the story is their life. and growing up. Some people would contest this but I believe my life is a story. Yeah, sometimes very boring but a story non-the-less.

If you have to take the photos yourself then, if you have enough time you could do the same concept just apply it to a flower or vegetable or something else that grows fast. I really like this concept because although you are trying to tell a story it really seem like your just marking the passage of time. Course then again, the same could be said for all stories. 'They mere mark a passage of events. Merely differing in setting, plot and protangonist.'
