How do I draw highlights in spikey hair?

Can anyone give me some good tips or a tutorial on how to draw hair similar to that?

Use a eraser to make lines, cut eraser and use side of it or the sharp corner. Keep eraser clean for better effects.

i can't reach it from this computer. but what i do is draw zigzags....like lightening streakes that follow the hair. its starting to work for me...but highlights are sort of difficult right now. practice some more...
