Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: or has everyone made the switch to mechanical pencils?

I use mechanical pencils for school... but I still use pencil sharpeners to sharpen charcoal drawing pencils, eye liner, and dowel rods to use as a defense mechanisms.

i despise mechanical pencils, so i'm always using them... even the little hand held ones.

dude why r u forgeting PENS!?!?!
PENamist?? gosh man dont be so exclusive...
jk lol.

Our school discourages mechanical pencils. Too often the lead falls out on the floor and makes a mess for the janitor.

Only when sharpening my pencils.

Artists all over the world use pencil sharpeners. Mechanical pencils would never be able to replace the kinds of pencils used to draw and sketch.

I really don't like mechanical pencils, I'm always running out of lead at the worst possible times! I will use normal pencils and pencil sharpeners 90% of the time. Otherwise I'll use pens.. cause I hate running out of lead and then finding out I don't have any to put in the pencil!

I usually use a utility knife to sharpen my pencils

I don't use mechanical pencils.

Being an artist, always! unless using the computer.

i never use those damned things, they are so clumsy. Normal pencils all the way!

I hate them . . they always snap . . they fall of . . the lead is just too punny . . who cares bout sharpening a few sec . . atleast they don't leave you with an anoid face

I only use mechanical pencils for writing, although I usually use pens for that same purpose. For drawing, I use a knife to sharpen the pencil so I can control the tip. I don't like how I can't control it with a sharpener, lol.
