Rate these?

Question:These are some of my best photos I have taken this year. Rate them 1-10, 10 being the best. I appreciate any other feedback also.

The little girl is a cute capture with a good expression. She could have used some fill flash to lighten her eyes and even the shadows on her face. It is also cropped to an odd porportion. If her Mom wanted a simple 4x6 print, you would have trouble cropping it without losing part of the image.

The squatting woman has a pole growing from her head, With a busy and somewhat unattractive background, use a large aperture to blur the background and put the attention on your subject.

The green mountain is tilted and the horizon is too centered. The mountain is darker than the sky, a graduated ND filter would have helped.

The vertical trees photo has some nice color, not crazy about the composition. Would like to see several takes on it from different points of view.

The lifts were ok, underexposed, but I liked the repetition of the tower shapes.

The final scene has really wacky exposure, but I do like the play of light and shadow on it.

In general, you have the standard novice efforts, not bad but nothing outstanding as particularly well done. You have some exposure issues, and composition that is too centered. They are in focus, which is a good point, and you haven't over-processed them to the point of painful (IMO, also good!)

My take is that these are all snapshots, without much thought being put into the technical aspects or the composition. You can learn more about the technical and artistic sides of photography, either on your own or by taking a class or two. I also recommend "Understanding Exposure", by Bryan Peterson. Start learning and keep practicing and you can take your snapshots to more levels. Best wishes!
