Position:Home>Visual Arts> Is yellow a shade of orange?

Question:Orange is NOT a shade.

It is a blend of two primary colors, yellow and red.

Another word for "shade" would be "value," or "tone." This describes the lightness or darkness of a color. Sometime this is called a "tint."

No, orange is a shade of yellow.

red, blue and yellow are the Primary Colors. Orange would be a shade of yellow(and red).

yellow is a primary color so it isn't a shade

no yellow is one of the first original colors. you cant mix colors together to make red, yellow, or blue. if you mix yellow and red, you get orange so you get the orange from the yellow. you can mix blue and yellow to get green and red and blue to get purple. hense the "primary" and "secondary" colors.

NO!!! Orange is a shade mix or whatever u wanna call it , of yellow.

Vince M is right. Yellow and orange are seperate from each other; yellow exists on its own and orange is made from red and yellow. (However, just as a side note, on most computer screens the 'primary colors' are red, blue, and green.) A shade is made by adding black to a color. Whereas a tint is made by adding white to a color. For example, khaki and rich brown are tints of yellow and orange, respectively.

orange is a mixture of red and yellow.
A shade is when you mix one color with black. (make it darker) yellow is lighter than orange.
Besides, yellow is a primary color.
