What size mounting board do I buy?

Question:I have a project that is due tomorrow and I have to mount it to a heavyweight blackboard. The size of my composition is 8" x 10" and the professor wants 2" margins. Do I just add 2 inches (10"x12")?

If so, is 10"x12" a normal size?

If wrong, do I buy the smallest blackboard and cut it down to the size I need? What cutting tool should I use?

no, it's an additional 2 inches per side. You need 12 x 14
