Is this a good drawing of Marilyn Monroe?

Question:It is my first time EVER drawing a human. I draw 2-dimensional cartoons only and usually. This is the first time I have drawn a human and the first time I have drawn Marilyn Monroe. I haven't even gone to any type of art school taken lessons. Ever since I was young, I LOVED to draw and it's just a natural gift. This is my first drawing of Marilyn Monroe:

NOTE: I used photoshop to make it darker because the scanner made it very bright. Yes, I know there are a few problems w/ it like the lips but like I said, it's my first time.

It's a good starter drawing. The shading could have been a little better but overall the portrait's good. Keep practicing your skills, work hard, and put as much effort as you can to improve theme. Practice makes perfect!!! Keep it up.

contrast contrast contrast. you CAN NOT be afraid to go really dark in some places and really light in others. shading will make or break your piece. good for just starting people though. you have potential, but really need to refine your talent. 6.5 / 10
