Question:What is your view? Should any government act as a sponsor for what might be construed non-essentials? Personally, I think yes in the general sense, especially at local level, with city art centres, local young artists, possibly help with Aboriginal artists. Here in the UK we have to have help, as opera houses and theatres are so expensive just to run on a day-to-day basis, and the large national museums and galleries wouldn't last without government money.
