On my onestep 600 polaroid camera...?

Question:what do the black and white arrows when you put the black selector thing to either side or in the middle? i think the camera is an older design, its black.

Set it towards the black to make a picture darker. Towards the white to make it lighter. It's exposure compensation made simple.
