a barrier is anything that keeps the subject from reaching something that they want or need. in other words, an obstacle.
begin by thinking of subjects, then what they want or need, and finally what would be an obstacle that stands in the way of their getting what they want or need. barriers can be physical, psychological, social, or economic.
examples
children want to play outside but it's raining or they have to do school work
children want cookies but are too short to reach the cookie jar
children want toys/candy but have no money
children want to play with others but look different from others or feel isolated
