Creating something for an audience can be different than creating it for yourself. What approach you take depends on what you want to get out of it.

I don't experience this at all! In fact, the opposite is true, I generally dislike my work and everyone else thinks it's genius.
I am the epitome of the old adage...you are your own worst enemy.
I have even given patrons screaming deals because I didn't feel the piece was worth the originally agreed upon price!
