Position:Home>Visual Arts> Flash on Nikon D40 doesn't work?

Question:So lately I've noticed the pop-up flash on my Nikon D40 is not working. I thought it was the battery at first, so I recharged it but the flash still doesn't work :/
My camera fell about a foot onto carpet about three weeks ago, but the flash was working after that. I have no idea why its not working...

Help please?!

It could be a number of things... You should check that the mode dial on the top of the camera is not on the "no flash mode"
Otherwise, go to one of the manual modes like aperture priority and pop up the flash with the button on the left. continue to hold that button after the flash has popped and the info screen will light up. Keep holding the flash pop-up button and rotate the selector wheel. Make sure the flash is still in normal mode.

In the menu there is a flash menu. Use the flash on TTL mode.

If all else fails, you should give nikon a call.
