Question:I am trying to make an animated pilot. I have tons of great ideas. I want to use cutouts, like southpark, so of course, I need to make my drawing style completely different then south parks because otherwize people might think im copying. so anyways i sit down and try to draw but they keep looking either ugly, like a plain old classic cartoon, or like south park people. how can i develop a style of drawing?

Practice, practice, practice. Don't hesitate to imitate drawing styles you like, then change them to make them your own. Don't get too box-like, as the South Park characters are. Just play around and doodle A LOT until you get one you like. Good Luck...and wtf is up with you guys saying he/she sucks at drawing? How do you know? :P

you sound like your not good at drawing dont even bother buying one of those "how to draw" books some ppl can draw some just cant you obviously cant

just make up new charactors

just draw each part of the characters seperately... and over and over again... when you do it how you want- keep it, and go on to the next..
i hope that helps... and doing a cut out animation will probably take you a long time.. just soo you know, but keep practicing... you'll get it right soon!!!!!
Good Luck =]

years of practice
a lot of drawing
and determination
you gotta try diffrent styles from diffrent artists and take the part you think is best and use them in your drawing and do diffrent things with them. i also think that watching somebody draw is good to creating your own style and learning when i watched somebody way better than i could draw i used some of the things they did in my drawings

if you ever need inspiration, i think its good to look at other styles first methinks u should visit deviant art (deviantart.com)
its an art community where u can search for any kind of picture (zombie, zombies-throwing-up-rainbows, etc) It might give you some inspiration, ya know?

for me though, i dont have any style it seems....ex; I'll skip from random paper mache art to various sketchings to a strange collage of origami.

Yeah sometimes it takes a while if you want to find out what your style is.....

P.S. sometimes you wont be able to picture the whole picture in your head all at once, but if theres a part of the image you like then draw it and then later u can attach it to some poor part-missing character!

P.S.S. Cookies can give you brain power ^____^
