Practice is the key.

Also, I recommend taking as many art classes as you can fit into your school schedule.
As far as middle school goes, you might be short on opportunities to take such classes, but typical high schools offer several art classes, including traditional drawing and painting, graphic design (computer drawings), sculpting, not to mention different classes for artists of different skills levels.

But again, Practice is the key.
Some tips: Be sure to learn proportions of common objects or people/animals really well (for example, did you ever notice that the space above the eyes is about exactly the same as the space below the eyes). Also, when many people sketch, they have a tendency to pick up the pencil too much, creating jagged curves. Don't erase unless you absolutely need to, and practice again

Did I mention practice?

Keep practicing and practicing! I'm 13 and I went through a stage like you did at your age. Never let yourself become unhappy about your own work, LOVE IT! Keep practicing and you will get better! ~Promise

ok, im gonna compare you to an athlete. you don't decide you want to run track, and your first day on the field you run a mile in 5 min. it takes practice and experience. back to art. keep going. one thing i've noticed is that people draw things how they're taught they look. for instance; a tree is a stick with a cloud on top. no. a face is a circle with 2 dots and a curve. no. a house is a square and a triangle. no. stop thinking about how it's "supposed" to look, and draw what you see; EVEN IF IT LOOKS WEIRD TO YOU. for faces, don't think of it as an eye or a nose or a mouth. look at shapes and shading ONLY. last thing: shading will make or break your piece. don't be afraid to go very dark and very light. good luck!
