Question:as in art, graphic design

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: as in art, graphic design

To me, graphic design is creating, choosing, and organizing elements to visually communicate a message. It merges technology with art as a way to communicate ideas in our everyday life.

Graphic design is everything.
Graphic design is everywhere.
Graphic design is MY life.

Making it yourself. Creating something that you have imagined in your mind, and putting it into art...

Attempting to take required elements such as text, photos, other images and make a combination that is pleasing to look at or attention getting while still revealing the necessary information. That is graphic design. In art in general, the elements may be a spout and a handle and a bottom to rest it on to be made into a teapot or legal requirements for headlights, windshield, etc., for a car.
To my mind, art for art's sake does not involve design, just execution to a result, while design imposes structure or features to the artistic execution.

It's bigger than arts and visual arts. Everything is designed, good and bad. As a design student I am studying everything from urban planning to advertising. So it means a lot, it's the future of everything. Good design are all the things we don't notice. They are seamlessly integrated into our culture, it's the bad designs we remember. The good ones we use every day without thinking about it.

A way of making a living from helping people and businesses express a concept, such as a message or emotion via, usually, a two dimensionsional medium.

Ultimately, it boils down to using reflected or radiating light to communicate.

Taking images in your head, arranging them, and then displaying them visually.
