On deviantart, what defines a good photo manipulation vs a bad one?

I don't do much photomanipulation myself but I loved it. And I look it in this way:

1. Concept. It should be interesting, enough to attract attention and different from the others. That way, I know that you are creative. A bad photomanip, has uninteresting concept and is common.

2. Source. Get great photos from many sources for your photomanip. A bad photo can ruin everything.

3. Editing skills. It is very important in photomanipulation. You need great editing skills to apply to the concept that you have in your mind. Bad editing skills can be discouraging for people to look forward to your masterpeice.

4. So, when you're done editing. You obviously need a name. Think up of a nice and interesting title for your masterpiece. I see many photomanips with title like : Idon't know or no title or no name. The title is one of the things that people can relate to the work of your art. It should be relevant. It can be an obvious title or a meaningful one.

That's how I rate photomanips anyway. Other people might have different way of judging though. ^^
