How can i draw a picture like a movie poster about the nanny diaries?

O.K. I looked at both the book cover and the movie site and I get the impression that this book is about a Mary Poppins-type of nanny. Why don't you go with that? Print out a picture of Scarlett Johansson and place a "Poppins" style hat on her head and an umbrella in her hand. The caption might read" She's not Mary Poppins but who wouldn't want this Job!" Look at images of Mary Poppins and pick out what you can use. Draw using simple forms or cut and paste the pictures into photo software and make a combination image. Take your time with the lettering, using a ruler. Make a collage type of poster with a central figure ( Scarlett Johansson) as the focal point. There's lots of red used in the movie trailer. If you can't find a nice red poster board then use good markers because they do a neat job and are fast. Fill in the entire background using red. Do a spiffy border all around to tie things together. Use bright colors and outline in black. It makes a remarkable difference. Make people want to read the book!

Print off a picture. Then just look at it and draw one line at a time. I am no artist but this works very well. Or you could put it on a glass table surface, put a light under it, put the picture on top, put a blank piece of paper on that, then trace.
