Position:Home>Visual Arts> Artists which have looked at movement or stillness?Question:any you know of would be a great help, especially on movement Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: any you know of would be a great help, especially on movement The Cubists (Picasso and Braque) have a lot of movement in their paintings. For stillness I would look at the versions of Monet's Water Lilies. Also - have a look at JMW Turner's Rain, Steam and Speed in the National Gallery, London. Marcel Duchamp: Nude Descending a Staircase.. this peice of artwork basically represented human movement in many phrases decending a stair case http://www.idiom.com/~wcs/duchamp.html The brush strokes in Starry Night by Van Gogh depict movement. I don't know if thats what you're looking for... You'll find quite a few sketches of movement and studies of movement in the extensive material left behind by Leonardo da Vinci. Check out: http://www.universalleonardo.org/ for evidence of this. |
